Rockpatrol (Day 3) Uluru sunset

We had a long drive ahead of us. So after sleeping in the underground again we were preparing to sleep in swags and sleeping bags outside the next three nights.

After a rather hurried breakfast and packing we were on the road. Instead on pushing the 800km(?) to Uluru (Ayers Rock) our guide took a quick detour in the beginning and presented us an amazing sunrise.

Several hours of driving later we had lunch at the border.

And after several other hours I saw some really hardcore people.

You need to remember. It is a desert through which we are passing.

Again several hours later Robert hit the brakes and jumped out of the bus. We other just looked at each other and had no clue what was happening now till Robert reappeared with a kind of lizard in his hands.

After gathering some wood for the campfire. We finally got our first glimpse of Uluru.

And had the first of two sunsets near the rock.

It is amazing how the rock changes its color during the sunset or sunrise.
